standing on my roof with a telescope set up during the lunar eclipse, i witnessed a teenager’s introduction to the sounds of a howling pack of coyotes – probably 5 of them – and was reminded not just of the power of that sound but also of the universal response to witnessing natural phenomena for the first time
the youth was awed and likely will never forget the special combination of earthly and celestial beauty
